Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) Updates

Due to COVID-19, Memorial Hermann Prevention and Recovery Center (PaRC) has taken precautionary measures for the safety of our patients and workforce.

The admission process has changed to the following:

  1. Initial call consists of obtaining demographics, insurance and a brief history for medical clearance.
  2. Phone assessment with a licensed clinician will determine the level of care and appropriateness for our facility.
  3. Next, there will be a Face-to-Face Assessment where we would obtain insurance authorization and physically assess the potential patient. During this assessment, employees and patients are required to masks and practice safe social distancing.
  4. All new patients will be required to wear hospital scrubs that we provide for the first three days of treatment.

Other safety measures we have implemented are as follows:

  • All persons, employees or patients, entering are screened for temperature and must complete a COVID-19 clearance questionnaire prior to entering the facility.
  • All persons inside the facility are required to wear a mask including employees and patients. Masks will be provided.
  • Social distancing (6 foot clearance) is in effect for all employees and patients.
  • Drop offs are limited to medications, money and cigarettes. All other drop offs are evaluated on a case by case basis and will require prior authorization from administration. Drop off hours: 8 a.m. – 7 p.m. daily.
  • The campus is currently closed to outside visitors. In order to accommodate patients, there have been additional opportunities for phone calls to loved ones throughout the day.
  • Adults have virtual programming for intensive outpatient (IOP) and partial hospitalization (PHP) treatment. Patients will report to campus for random drug screenings and initial intake.
    • IOP is offered from 9 a.m. – noon, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.
    • PHP is offered from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
  • Adolescents have virtual programming for IOP. Patients will report to campus for random drug screenings and initial intake.
    • Adolescent IOP services are from 8 a.m. – 11 a.m.
  • Family orientation and programming will be offered virtually through the Zoom platform as visitors are not allowed during this time.
