Michelle Peterson performs patient assessments and screenings, as well as admittance and intakes, plus insurance authorizations and utilization management in addition to documentation, and works with referral sources, EAP, SAP, TPAPN for coordination and reporting. 

Michelle went to the American College of Sports Medicine Exercise Science in 1988 as a Certified Personal Trainer, Group Fitness Instructor, Sports Nutrition & Lifestyle Coach. She also went to Lone Star College in Montgomery Associate of Applied Science in Human Services in 2009 and Chemical Dependency Counselor Certificate in 2008 for Human Services Certificate in 2008 with a 4.0 GPA Summa Cum Laude and Honors Scholar, Phi Theta Kappa. In addition she received a National Honor Society at Lone Star College in Montgomery for Physical Therapy Assistant Program in 2009. Her certifications include LCDC, ASCM, ACE and IDEA certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor, NIA Mind-Body Fitness Instructor Trainer, PADI and SSI SCUBA diver instructor, Self-Defense instructor and owner/instructor PROTECT Institute of Self-Defense, NSA Agent for Kid-Safe and Women-Safe programs and on the NSA board of advisers for self-defense programming, certified volunteer, volunteer trainer, and speaker's bureau for HAWC and MCWC.

Michelle has been an employee of the PaRC since October 2009, first working in the PaRC's Woodlands IOP as the adolescent program counselor and then as the adult program counselor. Michelle transferred to the PaRC's admissions department in November 2012. Michelle has 30+ years experience as a health and fitness/wellness professional and is the owner of PROTECT Institute of Self-Defense. Michelle has appeared on the OPRAH show as OPRAH's 1# pick for the best women's self defense program. Michelle has been a gym owner/manager, has managed corporate wellness centers, has been a professional dancer, choreographer/performer, retreat facilitator, workshop presenter, motivational speaker and international presenter. Prior to working at the PaRC, Michelle worked for a private boarding school for at risk youth and also developed and instructed programs for at risk youth for public schools.
