Teen Drug and Alcohol Rehab Approach at PaRC

1. PaRC's Teen Drug & Alcohol Rehab Program: Intense, Structured and Well-Rounded

Teens who have drug or alcohol problems need special attention and a targeted treatment program. PaRC's Teen Drug & Alcohol Rehab Program offers both for your teen, including teens with a dual-diagnosis. Our teen drug and alcohol rehab program is 12 step-based. Twelve step recovery is very effective in helping people to lead drug- and alcohol-free lives. At PaRC, we don't just introduce 12-step recovery to your teen; we show your teen how to live it.

2. Level of Care & Services PaRC Offers in Our Drug Rehab for Teens:

  • Medical Detoxification.  Your teen will detox safely and comfortably. PaRC is one of the few treatment centers in the Houston area that provides a medical detox for teens.
  • Residential Program.  Also known as RTC. This is inpatient teen drug and alcohol rehab where your child lives on campus 30-45 days.
  • Partial Day Program.  Also known as PHP or Day Treatment. This level of care is sometimes used in place of full-time residential treatment. It gives your teen a full-time program but allows them to return home in the evenings.
  • Intensive Outpatient Program.  Also known as IOP. This level of care usually follows residential teen drug rehab or partial day treatment.

3. Your Child’s Academic Education Continues

Teens get their high school education with up to six hours per day of classes via Southwest Schools. PaRC’s on-site charter school is accredited by the Texas Education Agency. Your child will receive instruction with self-paced classes. Your teen can make up lost school credits while in teen drug and alcohol rehab. They can stay on track and even get ahead.

4. Family Involvement is Critical

Your teen and your family will have in an intensive Family Program that is made up of family education, counseling, support groups and activities that help family members heal. PaRC's Teen Drug and Alcohol Rehab Family Program includes a one-year Aftercare Program just for you and your family.

5. Your Teen Will Build a Support Network

Treatment is not only about making changes today but also about change for a lifetime. PaRC partners with Alternative Peer Groups (APGs) in Houston. APGs give your teen time to meet and make friends with other sober teens. These sober peers offer sponsorship and sober role-modeling. APGs host 12-step meetings at the PaRC six days a week.

6. Therapeutic ("Experiential") Hands-On Activities

7.  Recreational Activities

For recreation, your teen will enjoy PaRC's teen drug and alcohol rehab music room. Field trips include movie theaters, Hermann Park and Bear Creek Park, the Houston Museum of Natural Science and the Museum of Fine Arts. There will also be activities at the YMCA and community service at the Way Station.

8. Physical Wellness

Your teen will have physical fitness with Health Education Groups, Meditation Groups, Yoga in Recovery, fitness room access, outdoor fitness and activities such as basketball and volleyball.

9. Positive Behavioral Management

Positive reinforcement is used to bring out positive behaviors in your teen. Your child will gain special privileges, such as game room access and extra free time, through our Behavioral Management System. This system includes a mentoring program that allows your teen to serve on a peer-led Leadership Committee.

10. Extensive Discharge Planning

Your teen's treatment team creates an custom post-discharge plan for your child. The plan includes a one-year Aftercare Program, continued family education, 12-step meetings and access to a variety of community resources.
