Drug and Alcohol Rehab Center for Young Adults
Why a Young Adult Drug Rehab?
In response to the growing problem of 18 to 24 year olds continuing to abuse alcohol and drugs, Memorial Hermann Prevention and Recovery Center offers a highly targeted Young Adult Drug Rehab Program designed specifically for this age group. PaRC is nationally recognized and serves young adults from around the country. Our 30 day and 90 day inpatient rehab programs are perfect for patients who want to leave their hometown and get a fresh start.

Because a young adult might have started using drugs or alcohol as a young teen, important psychological, emotional, behavioral and cognitive abilities have been affected.
The Young Adult Drug Rehab specialty groups are blended into the adult program curriculum and address aspects of a young adult's development that have been affected by early drug and alcohol use. Addressing the special needs of this population is critical to long-term success in recovery. |
How does the young adult rehab program differ from regular adult program?
PaRC has designed a special track for young adults that addresses all aspects of recovery. The program is multi-dimensional and targeted.
The special aspects of this program include:
- A Medical Director who is dedicated to our young adults and helps to oversee the effectiveness of the program.
- A Program Coordinator who ensures the young adult drug rehab curriculum is structured to effectively meet the needs of this population.
- Bachelor's and Master's level Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselors who are highly experienced & knowledgeable in assisting patients in building a strong foundation for future success.
- Some of the program's staff members are young adults themselves and can relate to what their patients are going through.
- Age-oriented Process Groups and other specialized therapy groups that provide a safe environment allowing young adults to share and relate with others in their own age group.
- Age-oriented chemical dependency education.
- An Intensive Outpatient Program on PaRC's main campus designed specially for the young adult.
- A one-year, highly structured Continuing Care/Aftercare Program for young adults who have completed their treatment. The program assists the individual in successfully reintegrating back into their lives while staying sober.
- A weekly young adult speaker who shares his or her experience in getting sober. Speakers are typically graduates of PaRC's Young Adult Program.
- Extensive family integration through family counseling sessions, multi-family education classes, family process groups and a dedicated family aftercare program.

How does the family recover from the effects of this disease?
You and your family members need encouragement and support to begin your recovery from the destruction of substance abuse. Families are a critical component of our Young Adult Drug Rehab Program - from the screening process through the final discharge planning, parents and family members are actively involved every step of the way.
